Islands and beaches

Piombino harbour is one of the main gateways to Elba: ferries and fast ships run to Portoferraio, Rio Marina, Cavo and other lines. Summer services are frequent; crossing times are typically around 45–60 minutes depending on the vessel. Book ahead and follow each company's check-in times.

Elba offers famous beaches — including Cavoli, Sansone, Capo Sant'Andrea, Fetovaia and Lacona — with snorkelling and Mediterranean scrub trails. Portoferraio, the main town, has a fortified historic centre perfect to explore on foot.

Closer to the agricamping, the Gulf of Baratti is known for pale sand and clear water; along Piombino's coast, Calamoresca and Punta Falcone are loved for rocks and sea colours. Northward, the Gulf of Follonica adds long sandy beaches and promenades.

Boaters should watch depths and local rules; by car, use only designated parking near beaches.
