San Vincenzo is the tourist pearl north of Piombino: a fishing village turned elegant seaside resort, with marina, seafront and equipped beaches. The Rimigliano pine forest and Sterpaia Park — with kilometres of sand and cycle paths — are among the most loved attractions of the Etruscan Coast.
The centre thrives on shops, gelaterias, restaurants and aperitivo venues; in summer the seafront promenade is a daily ritual for families and couples. San Vincenzo railway station connects the town to Campiglia Marittima, Piombino and the Pisa–Rome line, useful if you travel without a car.
Summer lines 016, 018 and 019 connect San Vincenzo to Piombino via Rimigliano and Bivio Baratti; from 1 July to 31 August urban line 029 serves the main districts to Euroturist, Conad and Piazza Caduti del Lavoro. It's an ideal base to alternate equipped beaches and free stretches in the coastal park.
From Agricampeggio Tognoni, San Vincenzo is about twenty-five minutes by car via the Aurelia; by bus, summer services let you avoid summer traffic on the coast. Combine a morning in Baratti with an afternoon in Sterpaia to discover two different souls of the same coastline.
Sterpaia Park combines free beaches and equipped sections; bring swimwear, umbrella and water if you visit the more remote areas. By bike, routes between pine forest and sea are flat and suitable for families too.
For dinner, book at seafront restaurants on July and August evenings. Return to the campsite on evening services 016 or 019, checking the last departure time on at-bus.it.
